CanadaLog & Hybrid Timber Homes Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Paragon Homes. Its specific goal is to make log and timber homes more economical, and accessible to clients. We provide a wide variety of log, hybrid timber styles using pre-engineered log construction for clients. For over 20 years, Frank Murray, has been making dreams come true for home owners by offering a premium construction project management service for clients.
Frank’s appreciation for log homes in particular led him to create a new company whose sole purpose is to provide economical and well thought out log home kits to clients throughout Canada and the United States. This is how CanadaLog & Hybrid Timber Homes was born.
We provide economical, value-laden log home kits – not just log walls and lumber. We offer one of the most complete kits available in order to eliminate surprises. Design possibilities are unlimited. You can choose from one of our models or we can design something for you from scratch, either starting from a blank sheet of paper or using the spirit of a design that may have caught your eye. We are a full service company that can offer plans, consulting, budgeting, tendering and construction services for your timber frame home. This technique yields many benefits to you in terms of appearance and cost:
• you get to decide where timbers will be placed
• you can choose the timber spacing, the size, and even the wood species
• conventional framing crews can be used to build your home, as opposed to expensive specialty timber crews
• insulation, plumbing, electrical and heating are simplified as these are accomplished per conventional shell construction
• you can choose between a solid pine timber, or a hollow machined timber
• as none of the timbers are load-bearing, you can design a look that is to your liking
• the timbers can be as few, or as many as you want
In a pure timber frame construction you only have so much say in where timbers will go, how many there will be, and their size, among other things. That is because each timber is a load bearing element. In hybrid timber construction all of these constraints are removed as none of the elements bear a load. That means you have near infinite control over the final product.
